How to Cancel Jetts NZ (3 Methods)
Because Jetts is built around no-lock-in flexibility, cancelling reflects that — it's quick and penalty-free. There are three ways to do it.
Method 1 — Jetts member app / portal. This is the easiest route. Open the Jetts app (or log in to the member portal on the website), go to your membership settings, and submit a cancellation request. Screenshot the confirmation. The app is also where you can freeze your membership if you only need a temporary break.
Method 2 — In person at any Jetts club. Because Jetts clubs are 24/7 and staffed during the day, you can pop in to any location to lodge a written cancellation. Ask for it in writing and keep a copy.
Method 3 — Email. Send a written cancellation to your home club (template below). Whichever method you choose, the steps are the same: (1) submit your cancellation, (2) get written confirmation of your final payment date, (3) keep training — access stays live through the notice period, and (4) only cancel your bank direct debit once the final payment has cleared.
Jetts Cancellation Terms & Notice Period
Jetts typically requires 10–14 days written notice on the Flexi (no-lock-in) plan. In practice that means if you cancel today, you'll usually have one more fortnightly charge and your membership stays active for that period. Submit your notice before your next billing date to avoid an extra payment.
Billing stops at the end of the notice window, not the moment you ask. Confirm the exact notice figure in your membership agreement, as it can vary slightly by club.
Direct debit: don't cancel the direct debit through your bank until Jetts confirms your final charge — cancelling early can cause a payment to dishonour and leave your account in arrears.
Consumer rights: under the NZ Fair Trading Act and Consumer Guarantees Act, Jetts can't charge you beyond your confirmed final payment date. If you signed up under pressure or were misled, you may have grounds to exit without the standard notice.
Cancellation Fees & Refunds
The genuine selling point of Jetts is the absence of lock-in contracts and exit fees — there is no penalty for cancelling the Flexi plan.
- Exit fee: none on the no-lock-in membership.
- Joining fee: the one-off joining fee is non-refundable, even if you cancel soon after signing up.
- Pro-rata billing: Jetts bills in advance, so you generally pay for the full fortnight you're in and aren't refunded for unused days within an already-paid period.
- Charged after cancelling? If money comes out after your confirmed final payment date, you're entitled to a refund — email your club with the written confirmation attached, and if unresolved, raise a direct debit dispute with your bank.

Alternatives to Cancelling
Before cancelling, check whether one of these keeps your membership alive at lower cost or no cost:
- Freeze / suspend: Jetts lets you put your membership on hold via the app — ideal for travel, injury, or a quiet few months. You keep your joining history and avoid re-paying a joining fee later.
- Switch home club: moving cities? You don't need to cancel — change your home club to a Jetts near you. Jetts members can train at any Jetts location nationwide and across the Trans-Tasman network.
- Downgrade / pause add-ons: if cost is the issue, ask your club about lower-tier options or removing any extras before cancelling entirely.
If You Have a Problem
- Always get written confirmation of your cancellation and final payment date
- If you're charged after your confirmed cancellation date, contact your club first
- If unresolved, raise a direct debit dispute with your bank
- Escalate to Jetts NZ support if your home club doesn't respond
- Keep all correspondence in case of billing errors
