Introduction to the 3-Day Routine

This routine is designed to be completed 3 days a week, with at least one day of rest in between. It's a full-body routine, meaning you'll be working multiple muscle groups each day. This is a great way to get started with weightlifting, as it allows you to make consistent progress and see results quickly. Most NZ gyms, such as Anytime Fitness and Jetts, offer the necessary equipment for this routine

Warm-up and Cool-down Routines

Before starting your workout, it's essential to warm up your muscles to prevent injury and get your blood flowing. A 5-10 minute cardio session on the treadmill or stationary bike is a great way to get started. After your workout, take 5-10 minutes to stretch and cool down, focusing on the muscle groups you worked. Many NZ gyms, such as Les Mills, offer group fitness classes that can help with warm-up and cool-down routines

Sets, Reps, and Rest Times

For each exercise, you'll be doing 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps. This means you'll be doing 8-12 repetitions of the exercise, resting for 60-90 seconds, and then repeating for a total of 3-4 sets. As you get stronger, you can increase the weight or reps to continue making progress. Remember to listen to your body and take rest days as needed

Putting it all Together

Now that you have a basic understanding of the routine, it's time to put it all together. Start by scheduling your 3 workout days per week, and make sure to warm up and cool down each time. Focus on making progress, not perfection, and don't be afraid to ask for help or guidance from gym staff. With consistency and patience, you'll be on your way to achieving your fitness goals
